There has been some debate at to whether Members of Parliament should be using mobile devices to comment on the proceedings of the Commons, but the consensus seems to be that as long as the devices used do not cause disruption, then twitters can continue their efforts to open up our democracy to new audiences.
For perhaps the first time, I got to me feet to speak in support and defence of Councillor Black and confessed to having been twittering during the Meeting myself....in fact I had commented on one of my fellow Councillor's tweets!
I really do think that the Labour Group Leader needs to be more open to ways of getting people more interested in local democracy and whilst I can only find one of Labour's 28 Councillors in Swansea who tweet, I am hoping that many more will become twits in over time!

I hear that the beloved leader lost his rag with his own troops during one of the debates. No wonder that he also managed to lose two of his members before the meeting.
ReplyDeleteIf I could only remember my log-on details I'd tweet you. Quite frankly, got bored very quickly. Chris R.
