"I tell you what, let's forget the fact that you're coming a little late to the party and embrace the fact that you showed up at all" - Sam Seaborn to CJ, "Mr Willis of Ohio", West Wing Season One
The Welsh Assembly Government have found a new tool to help them invest in new skills for the workplace and to improve employability in an uncertain economic period and when the Welsh economy desperately needs to adapt in order to attract high tech jobs.
Well done, Minister, but this is not exactly new, is it?
Foundation Degrees were launched in the academic year 2001/2 and I remember working on them when they were still in their development stage in 2000 when I worked for Universities UK.
So, well done for showing up, Ms Hutt, but don't you think its just a bit too late to be thinking about upskilling the workers of Wales when your Government has done precious little in this regard over the nearly ten years that Foundation Degrees have been around for?
